What to expect at your first visit
Your new patient consultation is our chance for us to get to know you better!
Your mouth is the gateway to the rest of your body, that’s why here at The Dentists of Didsbury, we take a whole-person approach to your care; we don’t just look at your teeth…

Your head, neck and jaw joint
Stress can lead to muscle tension and teeth clenching and grinding, which if left unchecked, can lead to tooth wear

The foundations of your teeth, healthy gums mean healthy teeth and we love to give you lots of hints and tips to help you keep your gums (and teeth) in good health
Your bite
The way your teeth meet. If you have problems with the way your teeth meet, this can lead to difficulty in functional movements like chewing effectively
Finally, your teeth
Whether your priority is maintaining, restoring health, function or aesthetics, we can cover it all
For signs of oral cancer, oral disease or lesions in the mouth
That can be a sign of an undiagnosed general health problem like a vitamin deficiency, diabetes or anaemia
We use the latest technologies to assess the health of your teeth, which include:
2 assessment digital radiographs (or x-rays) – including an explanation and discussion of any concerns
Your complimentary 3D digital dental scan so you can see what we see - we can also use this to monitor any changes in your teeth such as dental wear
Clinical photographs (if required) as a picture speaks a thousand words and can be used to monitor any changes
Personalised advice on achieving (and maintaining) a healthy mouth — We’ll explain what we see (in plain English), answer any questions, and chat through options to keep your mouth healthy.
Any treatment options available to you as well as full transparency on estimated cost so there are no surprises, hidden costs and no pressure
A written report of our findings, treatment options and a clear explanation on recommendations for treatment and timings
