Composite Bonding

Refine Your Smile with Gentle

PRECISE COMPOSITE BONDING

Enhancing the look of your teeth doesn't have to be complex, lengthy, or costly. Cosmetic bonding is one of the simplest procedures available, yet it delivers impressive outcomes.

If you have teeth that are a bit crooked, spaced apart, or chipped, we can address these concerns in just one appointment. The best part is that there's no drilling, no anesthesia necessary, and you can show off your new smile immediately.

The process is relatively simple - it involves expertly sculpting tooth-coloured filling (matched to your tooth shade) directly onto your tooth creating a natural-looking beautiful result. Often, you won’t even need anaesthetic because we’re not removing much (or any) tooth structure; it’s a one-visit process, and, after we’ve worked our magic, you’ll walk out with your smile instantly improved.

It can be used to fix chips, close gaps, correct minor crowding, or even reshape a tooth.

At the dentists of didsbury Composite bonding treatments range from a single tooth repair to rebuilding multiple teeth as part of a broader smile makeover treatment.

Modern Dental Office

What can composite bonding be used for?

Composite bonding can be used for both cosmetic and functional purposes:

Repairing chipped or cracked teeth

Closing small spaces between teeth (diastemas)

Lengthening worn teeth

Improving discoloration that doesn’t respond to whitening

Reshaping irregularly shaped / worn teeth

Improving minor crowding

Protecting exposed roots from gum recession

Repairing a tooth that has dental decay

Advantages

  • Quick - usually completed in one visit

  • Minimally invasive (little or no removal of tooth structure)

  • Relatively inexpensive compared to ceramic crowns or veneers

  • Natural appearance cosmetic dentistry

Limitations

  • Less durable than crowns or porcelain veneers - may chip or stain over time and so require periodic replacement

  • Typically lasts 3–7 years depending on care

  • Not ideal for very large restorations or for patients with heavy bite forces or patients with teeth clenching / grinding habits.

  • Will not whiten in future so recommended to whiten teeth ahead of composite treatment

Aftercare

  • Maintain regular brushing/flossing

  • Avoid biting into hard things (nuts, ice, pens, fingernails)

  • Limit foods/drinks that stain (coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco)

  • Regular review visits as recommended by your privet dentist and hygiene treatment when needed
