Denture Repair Service
AT THE DENTISTS OF DIDSBURY
We understand how inconvenient it is when your denture chips, cracks, or just doesn’t feel quite right anymore. Just as you rely on your denture every day — for eating, speaking, smiling — so we make repairing it fast, straightforward, and as stress-free as possible.

What is a denture repair?
A denture repair is the process of fixing damage to your denture — such as a broken tooth, a cracked base, or a loose part — so that it’s secure and comfortable once again. Repairs may include:
again. Repairs may include:
-
Reattaching or replacing a broken or chipped tooth on your denture
-
Sealing or reinforcing a crack in the acrylic base
-
Tightening or repositioning clasps or metal parts
-
Adjusting alignment so your bite feels normal again
We’ll always explain what’s happening in plain English.
When should you get it repaired?
You should bring your denture in for repair if you notice:
-
A crack or split in the base
-
A tooth has come off or is loose
-
It’s become uncomfortable or sore to wear
-
Something’s rattling or moving when you bite
-
It no longer fits as well as it used to
We always recommend having it checked if you have any concerns as getting it seen sooner means less risk of further breakage, discomfort or the need for a replacement.

Here’s what happens when you bring your denture to us for repair:
01
Assessment
We’ll examine your denture and ask you about what feels wrong
02
Explanation & options
We’ll show you the damage, explain what needs doing, and offer you choices based on condition, cost and timelines.
03
Repair work
For some simple repairs, we can do the work in house. If certain repairs need off-site work, we’ll arrange that and for return as soon as possible
04
Fitting & checking
Once repaired, we’ll test how it feels in your mouth, check your bite, and make minor adjustments so there’s no soreness or rubbing.
05
Aftercare advice
We’ll tell you how to care for your denture to avoid further damage, and when to come back for checkups or preventive maintenance.
How long does it take?
-
Simple repairs and relines can often be done while you wait within an hour.
-
More complex repairs (e.g. extensive cracks, structural damage, specialist relining) may take a day or two as it will need to go to a dental laboratory.
-
We always aim to return your denture to you as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.

Costs & payment
We know unexpected repairs are never ideal. Our prices are fair and transparent — before we proceed, we’ll provide you with a clear estimate of what is required and how long it will take.
We also accept various payment methods, and can provide itemised invoices for insurance purposes.
Tips to prevent problems with your denture
-
Handle gently — when cleaning or holding, support both sides so it doesn’t flex.
-
Avoid harsh drops — clean over a basin with water or a soft towel.
-
Use the appropriate denture hygiene products — avoid very abrasive pastes or harsh chemicals.
-
Don’t try DIY fixes — gluing with generic ‘superglue’ at home can cause misalignment, further damage and can be toxic to the body.
-
Have regular oral health checks and bring your dentures with you — even well-fitting dentures may need relining or small tweaks over time.
